Diary Entry
Its November the 3rd i am one of hundred of thousands Hindus celebrating Diwali. The streets are packed, it feels very claustrophobic. The festival is marked with traditional activities, sharing of sweets and snacks with family members and dressing in new clothes. My favorite is getting the yummy sweets and eating them with my friends and family. The streets look amazing people are setting off fire works and theirs candle lights everywhere. My friends and i are playing Dappa Kali a game where we make a ball from coconut leaves and the game is played between two teams. It consist of 10 marble pieces piled one above the other. One team targets this pile and once they strike it then their next aim is to keep it back while the other team has to block the opposing side from arranging it back. The defending team can make the other team out by throwing at them with the ball in any part of body except head and below knees of leg and hand.
