The Indus Valley is located in modern northeast Afghanistan to Pakistan. The way of life in the Indus valley was very cool. Houses in
the Indus valley where made of mud bricks with huge, tall walls and wide roads.
Water was a vital resource for the Indus people, So the builders would start
their constructions by digging wells and laying drains. The main streets in the
Indus valley were many meters wide allowing massive carts to pass. Side streets
were narrow for pedestrian access. Some
cities had a citadel (a fortress type building) high on a mound. In the citadel
were bigger buildings. Most Indus
people in fact did not live in cities at all. Because 9 out of 10 Indus valley
people where farmers and traders who lived in small villages.
